12/8/2022 0 Comments How to edit id3 tags on qnap nas![]() ![]() It's not what I'd call feature rich.Īnyways, my real question is more around what professionals (and I don't mean one guy in his home or garage) use to build media libraries. HPe was talking about a Windows-based NAS appliance they have. I'm glad to hear yours has run for a while. YOu have to have hardware on hand, and still then you need to put it to the test. But it is hard to tell product quality from info on a website. Want to try it as it does look quite interesting. Blue flashing button light of death within a few months? yes. I have used Synology DS412, DS912 elsewhere. I'm glad for your reply, especially your note on the reliability. Perhaps there are other NAS options you know of that might be a better option and I'd love to hear about them. So I'm hunting for a NAS that can provide the storage, archive, deduplication, but also the features for classifying, organizing, tagging media assets. My church has about 6-10 people on their team. ![]() It's just that the apps for media library management are clearly home user/SOHO in orrientation. ![]() I like the app extensibility of the device. I have worked with Synology DS412s before. Ideally, I'd like to find a NAS device that helps facilitate not just simple volume based storage (SMB, CIFS), but the organization and building of a "Media LIbrary".indexable searchable, etc. We've been using external Lightning drives and Dropbox and have our A/V assets scattered. Our shop mainly uses Macs for Video and A/V production. What I mean by this is features not simply for storage, but for indexing, tagging, keywording, multiple media types. ![]() I'm curious if those devices are feature rich enough to be considered for use for in a Professional Audio/Video production environment. I'm looking at putting in QNAP or Synology NAS devices. I work for a church that has about 15TB of unorganized media (MP4, RAW, JPG, AVI, MP3) files stacked in a couple of detachable LIghtning Port External Drives. For any of you using QNAP or Synology, looking for advice. ![]()
